Recall / Calendly SaaS / Smith & DictionPublished 2026-09-21

A scheduling link learns to hold a whole business.

Calendly's new identity has to make a larger product family feel like one useful thing. The open question is how much of that character survives the everyday appointment.

The Editor's Read

Craft / Behaviour / Memory

Smith & Diction built the identity on one idea, making space. The C is a single asymmetrical ripple, deliberately a little wobbly, after many rounds with more rings. The wordmark is customised so letters lead into each other with near-invisible connections, and the type pairs TT Neoris with Wulkan, with Geist for body copy in product.

Calendly announced an expanded suite on 19 August: Scheduling, Payments, Contacts, Notetaker and Callie. It reports more than 20 million users in over 230 countries, which is company-reported reach, not proof of recognition. Each product gets a pictogram housed in the primary squircle and colour-coded, softened by shared gloop forms. Generated time-block patterns and flex bubbles carry connection across web and product.

The off-centre ripple is the most durable primitive in the system. The watch-out is density: as more subproducts arrive, the ripple has to stay the first memory, not one friendly symbol among many.

The record stays. The reading moves.

The method moved from six axes to three lenses; Behaviour enters as a Forecast, so the score is restated, not carried over.

Dashed points are supplied illustrative scenarios. They are not published editions.
