Exa gives a young technical product an unusually composed identity. The question is whether that authority stays specific in documentation, evaluation and machine-facing use.
HEX frames the work through knowledge, Greek references and technical precision. Fine white construction lines and orbital geometry sit around a small typographic centre on signature blue, and the empty space does real work. Exa's brand page names an hourglass mark, signature blue, white and a marble neutral, set in ABC Arizona Flare and ABC Diatype.

Get the timeline right first. Exa replaced the name Metaphor on 25 January 2024, and HEX dates its portfolio entry to 12 May 2025. The product now positions itself around data for AI agents, with a company-reported 500,000 developers. Documentation and a published evaluation method give broad claims something inspectable to sit beside.
